It’s been several months since I attended The School of Styling in Austin, TX back in February. I was 8 months pregnant and ready to get my last little bit of creativity in before we welcomed baby number two into our family. It was exactly what I needed and more. I love to work with my hands and not just picking up my camera and photographing life, but creating things. Tangible things. I was excited to learn more about floral design from Natalie Brookshire, styling a table among many other things from Melanie McKinley and Kaitlin Holland, and putting paint brush to paper with the beautiful brush calligrapher Jenny Sanders. My absolute favorite things rolled into one workshop, one place, with many new friends in the industry. I never expected to walk away with more knowledge about marketing yourself through social media from Danielle and Alaina with The EveryGirl, branding yourself and your business from Bonnie Bakhtiari, and how to style food from Danielle Locklear. I look back on those few days I spent in my favorite city with some amazingly talented ladies with fondness. I am forever grateful for the knowledge that was passed on, the friendships that were started, and the inspiration to keep pursuing my dreams and doing what I love.
